Job description

To lead and manage the organisation’s end to end sourcing operations, as well as appraise and improve the organisation’s sourcing activities by analyzing company spending, supplying partnership and new possibilities.

Education required

A recognized University Degree in Materials Management/Supply Chain Management or equivalent and CIPS Membership.

At least Post-graduate Diploma in Finance/Accounting will be an added advantage.

Experience required

At least five (5) years post qualification experience in the field of sourcing, purchasing and materials management in a business environment, as well as conversant with financials.

At least three (3) years’ experience is required in planning and managing resources.

A strong financial background is an added advantage.

Procurement: Manages and delivers a portfolio of major procurement programs to meet the requirements of the overall organizational procurement strategy.
Supply Chain Management :Manages the delivery of major parts of the organization’s supplier management program while taking personal responsibility for mission-critical supplier relationships.
Operational Management: Manages a significant operational area for the organization.
Contract Management :Manages and delivers required outcomes for a portfolio of contracts and negotiates service level agreements while planning, coordinating and supervising activities related to major contracts.
Project Management :Delivers own small-scale or medium-scale projects by working within an established program management plan.
Strategic Planning :Manages the development and/or delivery of an element of the organization’s strategic planning.

Financial Acumen :Maintains and applies a broad understanding of financial management principles to ensure decisions are fiscally sound and responsible.

Budgeting & Costing :Manages the development and/or delivery of budget plans for own department.
Compliance: Provides input into the development of compliance policies, develops underlying procedures and monitors their implementation for area of responsibility within the organization.
Handling Vendors/ Communications: Processes and responds to a broad range of vendor questions and issues raised through any communications channels (in person, telephone, email, etc.)
Improvement / Innovation: Initiates, formulates and implements new business practices for own discipline, while managing the development and/or delivery of a significant element of the organization’s change management program.
Data Collection & Analysis: Analyses key themes using data from a wide range of sources and identifies possible impacts on the business.
Client & Customer Management (Internal and External): Manages external client relationships with guidance from senior colleagues or oversees relationship management with a group of more transactional clients and customers.

Manage relationships with internal customers and act as their business partner, while taking guidance from senior colleagues.
