SENIOR ENGINEER NETWORK MAINTENANCE

Job description

To plan, coordinate organize and control the maintenance and operational activities on the transmission and distribution equipment within the designated area to ensure that work is carried out safely, effectively and efficiently and to minimize equipment downtime.

 


Education required

  1. Degree in electrical engineering or equivalent.Membership of a recognized engineering institute.

Experience required

  1. At least five years experience in a high voltage transmission environment

Responsibilities

  • The ability to do day-to-day or real-time supervision of the execution of tasks and outputs within agreed timelines.   • As specialist qualified engineer, develop management processes and maintenance programs for the operation and maintenance of a power distribution network/ system.
  • A specialist understanding of the maintenance execution process, policy, procedures and standards. The ability to develop overall maintenance execution guidelines, templates and standards. Furthermore, the ability to oversee execution of maintenance interventions by performing checks of the quality and completeness of all maintenance interventions on a continuous basis and taking corrective actions across plants, taking into account the defined maintenance requirements from maintenance engineering and the maintenance scheduling.

  • A specialist understanding of maintenance scheduling. The ability to organise, co-ordinate and prioritise maintenance execution by allocating resources (ensuring the correct parts, tools, etc are available to execute) to the correct teams and monitoring of performance of these teams within plants. The ability to, based on maintenance requirements and time constraints determine whether resources need to be sourced externally or internally. Further to this, the Scheduling manager must have the ability to move teams between plants based on resource requirements.
  • An expert understanding of the Condition Monitoring process, policy and standards. The ability to design condition monitoring system hardware as well as software packages. Furthermore, the ability to perform advanced statistical analyses and expert interpretation of these reports
