Job description

To carry out quality assurance testing and inspection of electricity distribution equipment to ensure compliance to set standards and specifications.

Education required

  1. Diploma in Electrical and Electronics engineering or equivalent.
  2.  ERB Registration
  3.  Drivers Licence
  4.  Senior Authorisation six (6) months internal and twelve (12) months external

Experience required

  1. At least two years post qualification experience in electricity supply industry.

Core Accountabilities and Responsibilities 

    1. Plans the testing and/or inspection of products in accordance with materials and equipment delivery schedules.
    2. Recommends Acceptance and/or rejection of materials or equipment in accordance with set standards.
    3. Ensures availability and accuracy of testing equipment.
    4. Inspects and/ or tests newly procured materials and equipment.
    5. Recommends for review of processes for efficiency and improvement.
    6. Investigates causes of defects related to product usage and recommend solutions to prevent or minimise recurrence.
    7. Participates in technical evaluations to ensure procurement of compliant materials.
    8. Compiles periodic and adhoc reports.       
    1. Ensures compliance to SHER procedures when carrying out duties.
    2. Promotes safety awareness in line with SHER requirements through periodic audits
